High School: La Porte HS

As a Sophomore: Kara played in four matches as a reserve and averaged 1.25 digs per set... collected five digs against Florida Tech (11/14).

As a Freshman: Appeared in 30 matches for the Blue and White, starting two... primarily a back row defensive specialist, averaging 1.06 digs per set... collected 18 service aces on the year and tallied a career-high three against Montevallo (10/18)... tallied nine digs at Tampa (10/12).

At Prior High School: Was a four-year letterwinner at La Porte High School... helped the Slicers to 120 wins during her tenure and three consecutive conference and sectional Championships... led La Porte in kills and digs as a junior in 2006 en route to all-conference and all-area honors... named all-state as a senior captain in 2007 and selected to the Indiana All-Star Team... member of the National Honors Society, Girls Reserves, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was on the honor roll all four years... volunteered at the local hospice chapter.

Personal Information: Born March 15, 1989 in La Porte, Ind... parents are David and Martha Bailey... both parents are teachers... has one older brother, Kyle... her great uncle Teddy Rice rode Paul Jones to win the 1920 Kentucky Derby.
