As a Junior: Kala played in and started all 32 matches in her first season with the Fighting Knights... averaged 2.83 kills, 1.50 digs and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .220 on the year... recorded double-figure kills in 18 matches including 20 in a five set win over Michigan Tech (09/04)... rejected nine blocks against Eckerd (09/18)... notched six double-doubles on the year including 14 kills and 20 digs at Barry (11/03) and 17 kills with 15 digs against West Florida (11/19) in the quarterfinals of the 2009 NCAA South Region Tournament.

At Prior University/College: Played two seasons at crosstown Divison I program Florida Atlantic... averaged 1.68 kills and 1.75 digs per set in 56 matches for the Owls... led FAU in digs as a sophomore with 211.

At Prior High School: Played for Erica Green at Royal Palm Beach High School... two-time Second Team All-State recipient...two-time honoree of the Palm Beach Post Super Six and First Team All-County and All-Area for the Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel... named 2007 News 12 Female Athlete of the Year... tabbed Second Team All-County as a sophomore... member of the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students, National Honor Roll and the Safe School Ambassadors Program.

Personal Information: Born December 2, 1988 in Port St. Lucie, Fla... parents are Chip and Mandi Abdell.
