BOCA RATON, Fla. -Lynn University men's basketball player Chris Hall continues to collect
preseason All-America honors after being named to the Basketball Times NCAA II
All-America Top 25. Hall, a junior guard, previously garnered preseason
All-American nods from both The Sporting
News and Division II Bulletin.
Named First Team All-South Region by both the National Association of
Basketball Coaches and Daktronics as a sophomore, Hall had a breakout season
with the Blue and White in 2008-09. The Lauderhill, Fla., product was a menace
on the hardwood, tallying 17 games with over 20 points, four contests with at
least 30 and breaking his own LU single-game record with 43 points in the
season-finale.
In addition to leading the Sunshine State Conference in scoring with 22.3
points per game, Hall was also in the top-15 in field goal percentage (47.0%),
free throw percentage (79.5%), three-point percentage (42.3%), three-pointers
made (74), steals (30) and minutes played (940). Nationally, Hall was 10th
in NCAA DII in points per game and 18th in three-point shooting.
Hall set program records for scoring average with 22.3 ppg and tied the
school record for most points in a season with 623. On the year, Hall notched a
top-10 showing in 12 categories including points, scoring average, field goals
made and attempted, three-pointers made, attempted and percentage, free throws
made, attempted and percentage, minutes and minutes average.
In his young two-year career with the Knights, Hall is just two points shy
of becoming the 10th player at Lynn to reach the 1,000 point
milestone. He is also second all-time in scoring average with 17.5 ppg and is
top-10 in seven categories.
Lynn returns seven letterwinners from the 2008-09 season,
including Hall, with eight upperclassmen on the squad.
