BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn University's volleyball team ended a season-high two-match skid with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-14) shutout over visiting Florida Southern in Sunshine State Conference action on Friday night.  With the win, the Fighting Knights sweep the Moccasins on the season after topping FSC 3-1 on the road earlier this year.

Junior setter Devon Woolard nearly tallied a triple-double in the win, recording 24 assists to go with 10 digs and eight kills.  Kala Abdell led the Blue and White (18-8, 5-6 SSC) with 10 kills while Sophie Gagnon matched Woolard's eight.

Defensively, libero Lacy Redwine led all players with 13 digs.  At the net, Haley Pratt earned a match-high seven blocks.

A close first set saw the Mocs (14-13, 5-6 SSC) lead 20-16 before Lynn began to battle back.  The Knights scored eight of the next nine points to go ahead 24-21 before Abdell eventually put the frame away with a kill.

The second stanza was all Lynn as the Knights outhit Florida Southern .417 to .171 in the set.  Lynn used runs of 6-1 and 6-2 to easily take the frame.

Florida Southern would look to quell the LU momentum in the third, jumping out to a 4-1 lead.  Not willing to give in, the Knights then put together a 10-2 run to take the lead and put a comfortable distance between the two squads with runs of 6-0 and 6-1 to seal the win.

Anne Pietkiewicz led the Mocs with 10 kills.

Lynn returns to action on Saturday against SSC leading No. 13 Saint Leo at 4 p.m.  Fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.lynn.edu/athletics and selecting the "live stats" link.  As always, free live video streaming is available for all SSC home games via the "live audio" option.
