Orlando, Fla. - Lynn University's men's soccer team received its fifth Sunshine State Conference weekly honor of the season with the announcement of Alessandro Salvatore as Defensive Player of the Week. The Fighting Knights are now getting themselves ready to host the first round of the SSC Tournament which will be on Tuesday, November 3rd, at 3 p.m. against Nova Southeastern.
Salvatore made six saves to help lift the No. 19 Blue & White to a 3-1 conference win over rival Barry. The victory helped secure the No. 3 seed for Lynn heading into this week's SSC Championship.
The Austin, Texas, product leads the conference with a 0.73 goals against average and a 0.841 save percentage and is second with six shutouts.
Lynn (14-3, 5-3 SSC) squares off against Nova Southeastern (8-9-1, 3-5 SSC) for the second time this season following a 7-0 drubbing on September 18. The victor of this game will battle Tampa on Friday at 8 p.m. in Tampa, Fla.
